All eyes on NDA meet in capital as India gives verdict

New Delhi: Following the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will meet for the first time in Delhi on Wednesday to discuss the responsibilities and ministerial quotas for the Modi administration.Along with National Presidents Chirag Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Jitan Ram Manjhi of the Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM), Bihar chairman Minister and JD(U) chairman Nitish Kumar would also be present at the meeting.Nitish was informed about the meeting scheduled for Wednesday at 4 p.m. by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday, after the results of the Lok Sabha election. Politics in the nation are once again centered around Nitish.

Notably, the chief minister of Bihar met with Prime Minister Modi on Monday before flying back to Patna from Delhi. The NDA won 30 of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, while the INDIA alliance got nine seats. The last one to be won by an independent, Pappu Yadav, was the Purnia Lok Sabha seat.JD (U) won 12 seats, the BJP won 12, the LJP (R) won 5, and HAM won 1 seat in Bihar’s NDA. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won four seats, Congress three, and CPI (ML) two in the India bloc.

In Bihar, the NDA lost nine seats as opposed to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The NDA secured 39 seats in 2019.This time, the BJP lost five seats while the JD (U) lost four. Nitish Kumar, the leader of the JD (U) in Bihar, and N Chandrababu Naidu, the TDP, have emerged as possible kingmakers as the BJP was unable to get a majority in the Lok Sabha and so needed the support of the NDA allies to form the government at the Center.
